Prominent smartphone maker Moto who's now owned by its parent firm Lenovo is reportedly bringing out a successor to the Moto 'X' series by releasing the Moto X4 smartphone. According to numerous sources on the internet, the company has decided to scrap the 'Moto 2017' name and has instead replaced it with just a single digit. Prolific smartphone leaker Evan Blass confirmed the new name of the smartphone on his twitter feed.
The Moto X4 will be a fresh introduction to the 'Moto X' series which is a popular purchase for people who like to stick to a stock version of Vanilla OS. The presentation for the new smartphone has been accidentally leaked online, as per reports from GSMArena indicating that the new smartphone is priced for the mid-range premium budget smartphones, just below their upcoming Moto Z2 Play, also rumored to launch sometime in the coming days.
The Moto X4 will feature a 5.5-inch display as usual with most probably a full HD 1080p display on it that has been a standard from the company for some time now. With 4GB of RAM onboard, the new smartphone as reported by 9To5Google will be equipped with the latest Snapdragon 660 chipset from Qualcomm that was launched a week back. With the new processor, the smartphone is expected to come out with the latest Bluetooth 5.0 technology along with an X12 LTE Modem on board.
Other details about the new Moto X4 smartphone include a 3800mAh battery onboard which for a rumored resolution of 1080p is excellent with an average expectation of a full day of display on time with a single charge. This, of course, will vary from user to user. The reports also mention that the new smartphone will also house a front-facing fingerprint sensor that will not only help in unlocking the device but also act as an authenticator for passwordless transactions. The smartphone will also be IP68 water and dust resistant.
