Taiwanese smartphone maker HTC will soon unveil a successor to the current HTC 10 flagship device with the rumored launch of the HTC U 11, a smartphone that is equipped with smart sensors embedded directly into the display. After a long time, HTC has been successful with their product launch of the current HTC 10 device. Like its Canadian competitors Blackberry, the company is known to price their devices at a higher price than its actual worth.
The HTC U 11 smartphone's smart sensors will be pressure sensitive only according to details from Android Headlines. The report mentions that the source to the website has been briefed by HTC directly about the device also revealing its launch which is supposedly happening on May. 16. The touch responsiveness on the display will be independent to the Edge Sensors as per the newly leaked information.
The Edge Sensor technology was rumored to function in such a way when a user would squeeze on the display of the HTC U 11 smartphone, the device, in turn, would display some actions depending on the pressure of the touch from the user. Contrary to earlier reports that indicate that the new smartphone would feature both touch and pressure sensitivity on the device, the new report indicates that HTC has rather decided to ditch the plan and instead opt for a more direct approach for their upcoming flagship device.
As per reports from XDA-Developers, the specifications of the upcoming HTC U 11 device was listed revealing a 5.5-inch display with a speaker grill at the bottom of the display and an absence of a 3.5mm audio jack. HTC plans to include a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter with the box.
A video of the HTC U 11 smartphone also confirms a 6GB of RAM with the latest Snapdragon 835 10nm processor from Qualcomm. The device will also sport a 16MP front-facing camera while the one in the back can take pictures at a resolution of 12MP.
