John Morrell & Co. Recalls Approximately 210,606 Pounds Of Hot Dogs Due To Probable Contamination With Extraneous Materials

Popular meat company John Morrell & Co. recently recalled almost 210,606 pounds of hot dogs. The decision came after receiving complaints about the products' probable contamination with the extraneous materials.

On Saturday the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) of the United States Department of Agriculture has announced the recalling. According to MSN, the John Morrell & Co. made about 210,606 pounds of hot dogs on Jan. 26, 2017. Reports say the products include both Nathan's hot dogs and the Curtis hot dogs.

Reports say the 14-ounce sealed film packages contain "Nathan's SKINLESS 8 BEEF FRANKS". These packages are shipped with the Use By Date of Aug. 19, 2017. The packages also include another 16-ounce sealed film packages that contain "Curtis BEEF MASTER Beef Franks". These product packages of the John Morrell & Co. have the Use By Date of June 15, 2017.

The essential fact is popular meat company John Morrell & Co. has already shipped these packages to many retail outlets in the country. The decision by the company to recall the products was made after it received three important complaints. All the complaints point out the existence of the metal objects in the said beef frank product packages. All the packages have "EST 296" as the establishment number.

The FSIS says that no information is available about any kind of adverse reactions or injury as a result of consuming the hot dogs. Consumers are asked not to consume these products, PIX 11 reported. Customers are also requested to throw away the products or return them to the places from where the items were purchased.

FSIS works to check the recall effectiveness. The agency monitors whether the recalling firms have properly notified the customers of their recall or not. The agency also looks after that the products of the recalling firms are no more available in the market or to the consumers. One such example of this fact is the current announcement by the FSIS about the products of the John Morrell & Co.
