Apple’s latest iOS 11 features were announced by Apple SVP of Software Engineering, Craig Federighi last WWDC. As the final iOS 11 features aren't available until September, tech bloggers have already compiled the top new features revealed last WWDC.
According to Tech Crunch, the top new features of the iOS 11 were revealed to be the changes made to iMessages and the introduction of the latest Apple Pay. The Apple Pay is identified to be accessible through the iMessages as well and lets users pay other Apple Pay users too. Withdrawing money to one’s bank account is enabled through Apple Pay as well.
Along with the new Apple Play, the Cupertino-based company also released the second generation of Airplay. The Airplay 2 is said to provide multi-room audio controlled via the Home app, Control Center, or Siri and lets users connect multiple speakers. The Airplay 2 is also described to enable Apple TV and third-party applications as well. Other software and noticeable features of the iOS 11 include a smarter Siri with a new voice.
With that said, the iOS 11 now enables Chinese, French, German, Italian and English translations through the new Siri. Aside from the noticeable Siri, the iOS 11 also upgrades the camera quality since it now integrates H.265, or High-Efficiency Video Coding and High-Efficiency Image Coding that allows users to shoot quality video with a smaller file size. Live Photos were also mentioned to receive the new "Loop" and "Bounce" effects.
Moreover, the iOS 11 displays a much improved AR functions through Apple’s ARKit as well. Apps that utilize AR is said to now have improved 3D modeling and animations to allow users to feel more natural and realistic when they are using AR apps. Speaking of apps, the App Store is said to have a big redesign as reported by Digital Trends.
Other features of the new iOS 11 include Control Center and iMessages drawer app makeover. Apple Maps were also stated to be used in other locations as a detailed floor plan. For Apple drivers, a Do Not Disturb tool is introduced to disable notifications when driving through iPhone motion sensors.
