SpaceX revealed on Monday, February 1, that it would fly four private individuals into orbit around Earth on a Crew Dragon spacecraft, called "the first all-civilian flight in the world." It is supposed to debut in the fourth quarter of 2021.

Jared Isaacman, the CEO and founder of Shift4 Payments, will oversee the company's spacecraft.

The mission, referred to as Inspiration4, aims to collect money for the Study Hospital for St. Jude Children. Isaacman donates the three following seats on the flight to members of the chosen crew, according to the SpaceX press release. These crew will embody the foundations of leadership, optimism, kindness and success of the mission.

In a statement, Isaacman said the realization of a lifetime dream and a journey towards a world in which everyone will go out and discover the stars is Inspiration4.

He said he respected the immense burden of commanding this task. Isaacman said that he intends to leverage this historic time here on Earth to motivate mankind and to continue to combat childhood cancer.

Isaacman gave two of the seats on the mission to St. Jude, with one designated for an envoy to St. Jude with special access to the mission. Online contests that run from February 1 to February 28, described on the Inspiration4 website, will determine the third and fourth crew seats. The third seat is available to all who contribute to St. Jude, while the fourth is open to Isaacman's Shift4Shop eCommerce platform's current and established clients.

SpaceX Inspiration4 Commercial Mission Will Orbit the Planet

According to the release of SpaceX, the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to go to space without the exhaustive years of knowledge and stature is here, giving this year a chance to fly space to an ordinary person. Three individuals will take the open seats provided by the CEO of SpaceX and Shift4 Charge, Jared Isaacman, who bought all four Crew Dragon seats.

Although the Inspiration4 Commercial Flight of SpaceX would not have clear agendas or tasks when it launches that day, it will lead the crew of four astronauts to orbit the planet when it enters orbit on a multi-day adventure.  NBC News said the Dragon capsule would orbit Earth once every 90 minutes along a personalized flight route during the multi-day project.

How to Sign-Up for Inspiration4 From SpaceX

Users just need to go to Inspiration4.com. They would need to Read the Inspiration4 Commercial Mission's rules and regulations to enter or "secure a seat." Either they just contribute to the fundraiser for St. Jude's lifesaving project or launch a Shift4 Payment company and show it on Twitter. The pick is set for February 28, and SpaceX will confirm it.

Aboard SpaceX's Dragon spacecraft from Launch Complex 39A at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida, the Inspiration4 mission will orbit. The spacecraft would re-enter the planet's atmosphere after the expedition and splash down off Florida's coast.

About Mission SpaceX Inspiration4

According to a CNN report, SpaceX and NASA have long anticipated that SpaceX will cultivate more private-sector confidence in investing big bucks on space exploration for its upcoming Crew Dragon spacecraft.

Under its Commercial Crew Initiative, SpaceX designed the capsule for NASA. It is aiming to restore human spaceflight capability to the United States following the Space Shuttle Program's retirement in 2011, leaving America without the capacity for nearly a decade.

Instead of buying the spacecraft, since NASA owns all prior human spaceflight vessels, the Commercial Crew Program enabled SpaceX to maintain control, enabling it to sell seats to non-astronauts to stimulate interest in space-based exploration and tourism.
