Russian President Vladimir Putin has constructed an unstoppable new arsenal of nuclear weapons.
According to The Drive, these advancements are apparently a reaction to American missile defense systems. They will further exacerbate high tensions between Russia and Ukraine over different arms control accords.
Six Russian Superweapons: How They Work
He claimed per BBC News that some of his superweapons could "reach everywhere on the planet."
Take a look at the arsenal of weaponry that Putin has previously discussed, as 9News.au listed below:
1. Yu-74 Avangard
The Yu-74 Avangard missile system with 20,000km/h. Its speed is so fast that it gives targets little time to respond.
According to Putin, the hypersonic warhead glider may hit its targets "like a meteorite, like a fireball" while traveling at about 20 times the speed of sound.
What distinguishes the Avangard from other lethal weapons is its ability to travel and maneuver through the environment.
Due to its mobility, it may effectively elude detection while delivering both nuclear and conventional payloads.
2. Kh-47M2 Dagger
The Kh-47M2 Dagger is another sub-strategic weapon in Russia's arsenal of frightening weapons.
The hypersonic air-launched nuclear missile is launched from airplanes and ranges around 2000 kilometers.
It is possible to connect both nuclear and conventional warheads.
The missile was earlier termed the "perfect weapon" and "invulnerable" to air defense systems by Moscow.
When discharged, the weapon's solid-propellant-driven motor flares up and roars across the sky at up to 12 times the sound speed.
3. Poseidon Drone
The nuclear-armed submarine drone Poseidon is Putin's most terrifying superweapon.
Because this uncrewed underwater nuclear weapon may generate tidal waves and "radioactive tsunamis," it is named after the Greek God of the Sea.
The submarine may drop it onto the bottom and guide it through coastal defenses until it reaches the intended position.
It travels at 130 km/h through the water and is supposed to be fatal against aircraft carriers thanks to a top-secret propulsion technology.
The nuclear weapon will next detonate, unleashing a tsunami of radioactive waves into the targeted beach.
The Poseidon, according to Russia, may carry either conventional or nuclear bombs, allowing it to strike a variety of targets.
It will "inaugurate a terrifying new age of autonomous underwater warfare," with aircraft carrier groups, coastal defenses, and infrastructure.
4. RS-28 Satan 2
The Russian President announced that his "RS-28 Satan 2" missile, which can fire up to 12 nuclear warheads at once, has successfully launched.
The massive 35-meter nuclear warhead can travel at speeds of up to 25,000 km/h, carry 15 missiles, and devastate an area the size of France.
It traveled roughly 6000 kilometers in 15 minutes during its test firing.
The Satan missile's individual warheads can detach from the main 100-tonne missile and travel at hypersonic speeds towards their target.
Russia's defense ministry said that the Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile can defeat any missile defense system.
The weapon was a "gift to NATO and all promoters of Ukronazism," according to Dmitry Rogozin, director of Russia's space agency Roscosmos.
5. SC-X-9 Skyfall
The SC-X-9 Skyfall, a nuclear-armed cruise missile with "unlimited" range, adds to Russia's arsenal of superweapons.
It may be launched from land or water and can stay in the air for days.
Putin believes that the bomb, which Russia unveiled in 2018, can dodge any air defense systems, implying that no opponent is safe.
Skyfall is also supposed to be harder to detect since it may travel at low altitudes for the duration of its voyage.
Experts created the world's first nuclear-powered cruise missile to uncover weaknesses in enemy defense systems.
The cutting-edge weapons system can also hit key military targets that other weapons couldn't reach.
6. Supra-light
The Supra-light laser cannon is one of the most flexible weapons in Russia's arsenal, keeping with the country's modern systems.
Its major objective, also known as the Peresvet, is reported to be fulfilling the same responsibilities as air defenses and missiles.
It can destroy satellites, planes, drones, and missiles, making it a "disturbing" danger to the US.
It works in the same manner that other countries' systems do, by neutralizing the electronics aboard missiles and planes.
However, many specifics concerning the lethal laser gun remain unknown.
While it is supposed to perform perfectly in excellent weather, inclement weather is thought to impact the laser's passage.
