GRUENHEIDE, GERMANY - MARCH 22: Tesla CEO Elon Musk speaks during the official opening of the new Tesla electric car manufacturing plant on March 22, 2022, near Gruenheide, Germany. The new plant, officially called the Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg, is producing the Model Y and electric car batteries.

After months of waiting for Elon Musk's humanoid robot, people now have a date to mark on their calendars. According to the CEO, the AI machine will be presented in September 2022 at the Tesla AI Day event.

At first, many people doubted if Elon Musk would release the date for the robot. Many also thought it was impossible to build such a complex machine in less than a year. But today, the Tesla boss assured that the public would see Optimus three months later.

During the 2022 Tesla AI Day, reports suggest that Elon Musk's team will demonstrate how the humanoid's functions work. The exhibition might include some of the skills that the 57-kilogram and 1.7-meter machine could do, including dead-lifting a 69-kilogram object while also carrying a separate 21-kilogram material.

The face of Optimus has a screen that would include the virtual information regarding topics of the robot's activity, with the entire machine being maneuvered through an autopilot software, LadBible reports.

Optimus will also include eight specialized imaging devices to get data from the machine's immediate environment and feed it directly to the neural network, allowing the robot to process and think in real-time as the human brain does.

The humanoid could also walk on its own through the cameras on its face that could analyze and identify images and the terrains of the vicinity.

What We Should Expect from Elon Musk's Tesla Bot

Robotics expert Raj Rajkumar explained that they have doubts about the development of Optimus, as the current technologies could only produce AI-powered humanoid robots with multiple automated functions in a whopping ten years or more, Daily Star reports.

Elon Musk already addressed this concern at the announcement of the Tesla bot project. He said that the robots could only process and conduct 'boring tasks' far from what critics expect.

The millionaire said that he trusts Tesla's very talented team and even works closely with them to achieve the deadline by September 2022. At the moment, he adds that very much of the plan laid out is on track.

In a previous interview, Elon Musk hinted that the Tesla bot could develop a personality over time according to the evolutionary pattern that complements its owner. Tech Insider reports that users could even program their personalities on a drive and install it on the machine to mimic people's traits.

Elon Musk iterates that the sole function of the AI humanoid is to replace humans in doing repetitive, hazardous, and monotonous tasks.
