A new monitoring device, considered the industry's first, has been launched by AT&T. The device is designed to help monitor older adults through walls.
New Monitoring Device Without Cameras, Wearable Trackers
AT&T launched the industry's first radar device to detect emergencies and monitor people at risk of falling. The company has partnered with the maker of medical sensors, Cherish Health.
It can do this throughout the house in various rooms and even through walls. The Cherish Serenity is a gadget that detects body position, movement, and biometrics without using cameras or wearable trackers by combining AT&T cellular connectivity with Cherish's radar and AI technologies, Verge reported.
The gadget aims to increase the independence and privacy of older generations.
The Cherish Serenity has woven gray fabric and wood (or potentially wood-effect), making it a small storage box or speaker. Older, less tech-savvy people won't need to configure anything because the device starts working when you connect it to a power source. Like a wearable tracking device, it doesn't require constant recharging.
AT&T cellular connectivity is preconfigured for the Cherish Serenity. Additionally, it can be linked to the FirstNet first responder network, which AT&T assisted in developing.
This gadget makes it simple for friends and relatives to check in on their loved ones and notifies them when something is wrong. Cherish Serenity eases stress while lowering costs and difficulties for everyone involved.
Enterprise clients, including senior living communities, nursing homes, and healthcare professionals, will be able to purchase the Cherish Serenity for an unspecified period later this year. Both businesses have been contacted for more details, including price.

Cherish Serenity Changes, In-Home Sensing
According to Sumit Nagpal, founder, chairman, and CEO of Cherish, in a press release, the Cherish Serenity platform with Cherish AI allows a whole new class of in-home safety and health monitoring capabilities without compromising people's privacy and dignity or needing them to modify how they live. Then it takes a crucial step further and "just works" to address the sector's setup and cost issues.
Since the COVID pandemic first broke out, we have been working with AT&T to offer rapid connectivity so that people may plug this essential capacity in and move on with their lives.
According to Joe Drygas, vice president of healthcare solutions at AT&T, Cherish Serenity uses artificial intelligence, radar technology, and connectivity to redefine the game for in-home sensing completely. The gadget marks a significant advancement in medically driven technology for tracking the health of aging persons daily. Both caregivers and healthcare professionals can benefit from the Serenity platform since it opens up a whole new world of sophisticated sensing where people reside.
FirstNet can be used by Cherish Health as an extra member of the public safety team that can help first responders in an emergency. Before service is authorized, FirstNet eligibility is extensively examined to ensure that its special capabilities are kept exclusively for use by first responders and those who support them.
