Mountains and trees are different; that's what we learned from class. However, the flat Earthers have a bizarre theory. According to them, mountains are trees; for some, the strange concept is not far-fetched.
Mountains Are Trees: No Forest Theory
A YouTuber from Crimea started a conspiracy theory about the mountains and trees. The video entitled "There are no forests on Flat Earth Wake Up" is from someone who believes that the Earth is a flat disc, so the notion is plausible from their perspective.
The idea was met with skepticism, but it also resonates with some, including Jaqueline Ronson, in a way. According to her, the "no forest" theory suggests that what we call forests are, in reality, just low-lying bushes, the impoverished remains of an ecologically rich world that held 40-mile-high trees with trunks two miles across.
The enormous trees reportedly left behind their stumps. Mountains with flat tops are the remains of enormous trees that were felled by seemingly giant machinery. Mountains with jagged edges are the severed stumps of trees that fell or were knocked over during a catastrophic event, such as a nuclear war or large fire.
Additionally, every rock on Earth is allegedly not an actual rock, but it is the debris from ancient massive trees that were once fully alive. For instance, the Devil's Tower and the Giant's Causeway are theorized to be fallen trees.
The high cliffs in river valleys were hewn out by massive equipment, making them look like old quarry mines. Volcanoes are simply mounds of industrial trash left behind after this flat Earth has been destroyed; when the toxic chemicals inside react, heat, fire, and the occasional explosion are produced.
Side-by-side images of the geological formation and the object the narrator alleges to be its origin support each claim. The photographs reveal astounding parallels. The narrator adds that even though we are asked to identify ten distinctions, we cannot do so since there are only two: substance and size.

Reaction to No Forest Theory
Another netizen also shared the same theory on TikTok. He is unsure whether the theory is accurate and wonders if giant trees are still left.
Several reacted to the post, some believing it and others joking. One said if giant trees were still present, the bugs would be the size of a car.
The Bulge Magazine and many others commented that they were convinced everything was way taller and bigger before because the atmosphere had much more oxygen. A different user said the theory was their favorite.
Carrie Lee Gray said the book of Psalms mentioned a giant cutting down trees with an ox in reference to a scene in the video showing a rock formation that appeared to be a giant ax set on top of a giant stump of petrified wood.
For Ronson, it's untrue that the mountains were once forests. However, she added that the Flat Earthers aren't entirely mistaken from a broader standpoint.
She noted that what we have done to our planet, we now inhabit a degraded version of it. The remaining forests are just echoes of what they once were. It's nearly impossible for us to imagine the depth of the world's past since we are so used to it as it is now.
