Bloomage, a manufacturer of hyaluronic acid and bioactive substances, has released its new sustainability report describing its results in environmental stewardship and emissions reduction.
According to the report, Bloomage's rooftop photovoltaic systems and biogas power generation equipment collectively generates approximately 3.52 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually. The company claims this has resulted in a reduction of 2,008 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent emissions. Additionally, Bloomage's use of external biomass heating has reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 5,000 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent.
The company has also actively sourced Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified packaging materials. Over 95% of the external packaging materials for Bloomage's functional skincare products now hold FSC certification. Additionally, the company has completed research and application of sugarcane-based plastics, which it claims can reduce approximately three tons of carbon dioxide emissions per ton compared to traditional petroleum-based plastics.
Other efforts to cut down on packaging waste include using reusable material transfer tanks to reduce the use of polyethylene plastic bags.
