While it may seem normal for all living creatures to excrete waste from their body, this is actually not the case.
There are some animals that do not poop like other creatures do. While some of them may not live long enough for them to poop, other animals have come up with other ways that are shocking, unique, or repulsive.
Animals That Do Not Poop
Mayflies
Mayflies are creatures with short lives and lack a digestive system.
They undergo metamorphosis until they reach adulthood. Then hatch as a nymph and become a merger. They have a brief phase of being sterile as a subimago and dun.
Eventually, they become a full-grown and colorful adult known as a spinner.
Since mayflies' lives focus on reproduction, they actually do not have mouths of their own. After they mate, these creatures fly off to die. Female ones also lay eggs and end up dying due to exhaustion.

Butterflies
Butterflies only drink nectar. Because of that, they do not do "number one" or "number two."
When they excrete waste, it comes out as fine water spray from their abdomen tips. The liquid waste may also leave their systems as they fly.
Butterflies release the liquid when their bodies are full of it.
This mist hardly counts as urine since it is almost pure water. The droplets could be different when it comes to consistency. They could also be cloudy or clear.
The amount of liquid that they spray may not be proportionate to their size.
Because butterflies do not have teeth, they do not chew or bite. They eat with a long straw that is tube-like, allowing them to suck in liquids from fruit.
Flatworms
While these parasitic creatures have a pharynx, mouth, some intestines, and several organs for senses, they do not have respiratory or circulatory systems. They also lack an anus.
Since they do not have any specialized digestion, waste leaves their body through the same passage where food enters their mouth.
Sponges
While sponges have certain specialized cells, they do not have tissues or organs. They also cannot engage in photosynthesis.
Rather than doing so, they filter the water that their bodies take in. They then excrete "sponge poop" of some sort, which is carbon that other creatures could feast upon.
Birds
Birds poop in a unique way that is unlike mammals. Rather than having two distinct passages for feces and urine, birds have a single passage known as the cloaca, where both feces and urine can be excreted.
Moreover, while mammals release urea in their feces, birds actually turn urea into uric acid or guanine.
This is the reason why birds release substances with dark poop at the center and white urine surrounding them.
However, not every bird poops and pees simultaneously. For instance, ostriches pee via the cloaca before they excrete their feces.
