Following the kick off of this year's CES 2016 in Las Vegas, a whole new level of technology has surprised visitors from around the world. From Batmobile cars to iPhone-controlled fans then to smart thermometers, things that were once thought to be impossible were presented. But as the show continues, more surprises are to come. But before that, these are the first day's top picks.
Who would ever miss Faraday Future's FFZero1 concept car model that seems like a combination of Corvette and Batmobile? Showing off its 1,000 horsepower engine, the car got everyone drooling as it can go as fast as 60 mph in just 3 seconds, a mere snap of a finger as to say, and a top speed of 200 mph.
How about the rollable OLED display by LG? Although the idea has already been presented by previous companies, LG is the first to display its 18-inch prototype. The specific features are still to be announced as well as the price, but this is the latest curvy, bendable and rollable screen display.
Baby-related tech seems to be going with the flow as well. French company Withings introduced the first Wi-Fi-enabled thermometer known as Thermo. Boasting of its 16 sensors, the device can take up to 4,000 measurements in just 2 seconds. Temperature levels are shown in its LED screen that lights different colors. This new technology perfectly allows parents to obtain baby's temperature by just hovering over the skin and connecting it to a Wi-Fi, no need of waking the babies up from their good night sleep. It also works in adults, too.
MagSafe connector is a savior for every Apple user out there. But after the company ditched it after its release on their latest MacBook model, Griffin once again comes to the rescue, bringing along its BreakSafe Magnetic USB-C Power cable. The plug is connected in the USB-C port and automatically disconnects when other parts of the cord are put to stress. Retail price is announced at $39.99 although it is not yet available in the market until April.
And lastly, Lenovo's X1 model tablet, a hybrid between a laptop and a tablet, offers a detachable keyboard, a 3D imaging module and a presenter module with a pico projector and HDMI port. Price starts at $899 and will be made available in stores in February.
