Apple undeniably faces controversy with the unnamed mysterious wireless device which they submitted to the Federal Communications Commission. The device was confirmed but still due to strict confidentiality requested by the company itself, experts find it hard to speculate the device.
Macrumors was able to get a screenshot of the regulatory label attached to the back plate of the device. The Model A1845 (name unknown) of this new Apple wireless device is on its third filing. The first filing was Model A1844 and the second is Model A1846. However, everyone is still clueless what the device could be.
Consequently, the request of Apple for permanent confidentiality of the said wireless device put everybody in top curiosity. According to Digital Trends, even photos, user manuals, documents in the filing, as well as schematics were said to be kept in private. Eventually, the said mysterious wireless devices is said to remain in mystery for it does not correspond to any Apple products in the market.
Meanwhile, a leak of test reports revealed that upon the completed UL Verification Services, the first two devices has Bluetooth LE and NFC. Additionally, the device is described to have at least two slightly curved edges and a pair of Torx screws. Some speculate that this mysterious device of Apple is a new Apple TV or an iBeacon-based equipment for iOS supports. Likewise, some said that the device could be a Siri-enabled smart speaker or possibly a new Wi-Fi router model.
Apple fans gave their own speculations and showed excitement on the unnamed mysterious device. An Apple product user commented, "My guess is a contactless swipe reader for doors at the new Apple campus. The three could be the Bluetooth beacon for location alerts on iPhone or watch, NFC and a Touch ID to gain entry." The Apple wireless device is still a mystery to all up until it was released to the public.
