After Apple, Microsoft also set an increased price for Surface Book. The rise was blamed to Brexit for the powerful Windows 10.
A few days ago, Microsoft has reportedly set price hike on its Surface Book laptops in the United Kingdom. According to MacRumors, the price increase was a result of the impact of UK's decision of leaving the European Union. The significant drop of the pound since the E.U referendum has now affected Microsoft that's why it had to follow Apple on the price hike.
Microsoft by consequences was forced to raise the price of its Surface Book laptops in the UK at the cost of 150 pounds more. The additional price resulted in the price of Surface Book laptops at more than $1800 almost the same as the 13-inch MacBook Pro. Microsoft has no choice but to align its price for the laptop to market dynamics.
Consequently, the said situation of Microsoft was blamed on Brexit. Express UK reported that it was Brexit's decision why the British pound declined its value and dragged the price hike of Microsoft Surface Book. TechCrunch site was the first website where the increase was noticed.
However, the price raise for Microsoft Surface Book laptops only affects services and products. Luckily, the cost of volume licensing was not affected. Meanwhile, though it's the Brexit decision who greatly caused the changes and price hike, Microsoft still promised to support the UK. The company has made the decision which was stated last month of no plans to leave the UK.
Besides, Microsoft is aiming to continue significant investments in the country not only the Microsoft Surface Book. Aside from Microsoft and Apple, there are other companies which were forced for price hikes particularly those in the technology firms. One instance is the speaker maker firm Sonos which will soon be making an increase of 25 percent. And they are all blaming Brexit decision which caused the declining power of the pound.
