Xiaomi Mi 6 & Mi 6 Plus Latest Update: Release Date & Prices Revealed; Specs & Features Disclosed

Xiaomi Mi 6 and Mi 6 Plus have long been waited by consumers in the market. Finally, the company revealed its release date aside from disclosing the prices of the said smartphone. So when will the handset be available and how much does it really cost?

Xiaomi Mi 6 and Mi 6 Plus are the latest smartphones product from the Xiaomi company this year. The company started in 2011 when it release its first smartphone in the market. From there, it began to design and develop laptops, mobile apps, and other consumer electronics particularly smartphones.

From a small business, Xiaomi started to grow and become a well-known brand in the electronic industry. In 2014, it was recognized as the third-largest smartphone maker behind Samsung and Apple Inc. and ahead of Lenovo and LG. Now, they are set to release their latest handset, the Xiaomi Mi 6 and Mi 6 Plus.

According to Gizbot, Xiaomi Mi 6 and Mi 6 Plus was first speculated to be released last April 11 but eventually, Mi VR Play 2 was the product that was launched that day. But later that day, Xiaomi announced that both flagship smartphone will be available to the public this coming April 19. The launch event is said to be held at the University of Technology Gymnasium in Beijing.

With this, consumers will have four more days to finally get their hands on it. But aside from the release date, Xiaomi also unveiled the prices of Xiaomi Mi 6 and Mi 6 Plus. Mi 6 with a 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage is priced at 2,199 yuan (almost Rs. 20,500) while the 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage will be priced at 2,599 yuan (almost Rs. 24,300)

NDTV also gave some teaser on Xiaomi Mi 6 and Mi 6 Plus specs and feature ahead of its released. Both smartphones will sport a Snapdragon 835 processor and will have a dual-curved edge display. It was also tipped to run on an Android 7.1.1 Nougat software but this is not confirmed yet.

Xiaomi Mi 6 will feature a 5.1-inch full-HD (1080 x 1920 pixel resolution) display while Mi 6 Plus will have a Quad HD 2K OLED display. Both handsets will offer a 64GB or 128GB internal storage and will sports a 4000mAh battery that comes with a Qualcomm's Quick Charge 4.0 technology for fast charging. Mi 6 will also feature a 12-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera.
