HTC has reported that it will reveal its flagship mobile phone expected to be called HTC U one month from now. Codenamed the "Ocean," the upcoming HTC mobile phone has been subjected to a few leaks previously, which further includes the leak of its promo in January. Taiwan-based OEM has formally affirmed that it would exhibit its flagship on May 16.
HTC took to Twitter to post a five-second long teaser, which also allowed individuals to take a look at its upcoming flagship. The teaser was joined by a slogan expressing, "Squeeze for the Brilliant U."
HTC will disclose its flagship on May 16 at Taipei, New York, and London, as per local time. The live stream time for the dispatch will be 2 a.m. ET or 11 p.m. PT (May 15). The teaser video other than announcing the launch date, time, and place of the flagship also confirmed past rumors about HTC Sense advancing toward the handset, as per Android Police.
Previous rumors recommend that the HTC U will probably accompany a pressure-sensitive or squeezable frame around it, Android Central cited. The frame will enable the clients to squeeze the mobile phone to trigger particular functions, like, taking a photograph or launching an application.
It has also been indicated that the HTC Sense will require a short squeeze to launch one action and a longer one to begin another. The component or feature falls in accordance with the recently launch HTC U teaser slogan, which requests the client to "Squeeze" for splendid functioning.
Noted tipster Evan Blass before expressed that the HTC flagship may accompany Qualcomm's most recent Snapdragon 835 processor. He additionally shared that the mobile phone could get a May launch, which the company has now asserted.
Speculations also indicate the HTC U sporting a 5.5-inch Quad HD display. The mobile phone may come in two storage variations - 64 GB and 128 GB. Rumors are circulating that the upcoming handset may house 4 GB of RAM. The said HTC U could likely feature a 12-megapixel rear facing the camera and a 16-megapixel front-facing snapper.
