Irvine-based consumer electronics manufacturer Vizio has come out with new displays for 2017. Their P-series and M-series TVs introduced in 2016 came out with a UHD resolution and High Dynamic Range(HDR) making them an easy choice for anyone looking to include all these in their budget for a new television.
The P-Series and M-Series of Vizio have retained their naming schemes for 2017 but with better features and also, a better price. A report from Digital Trends mentions that Vizio now likes to call them as 'displays' rather than a television. Unlike before, the new variants of their products will now come with a standard remote controller.
The P-Series displays will now feature Vizio's XLED panels with XHDR Pro, what the company terms it to be the most powerful with 128 different on-demand dimming zones. What this essentially means is that the blacks in the image will now be deeper increasing the contrast and the range of different colors on the screen.
Meanwhile, prices for different models of the new Vizio displays for 2017 were reported by Engadget indicating that the starting price for the new models will begin at a price of $799.99. The M-series models are comparatively cheaper than the P-Series variants.
Vizio M-series displays also offer XHDR and XLED Plus, but with lower dimming zones and also a lower effect refresh rate of 120Hz which is still better compared to a 60Hz display which is the industry standard in most cases.
The new displays from Vizio will now actively support Smartcast services and hence will now respond to commands from Google Home and other voice commands. Users will also be able to stream custom app content on the new displays. The report mentions that an over-the-air(OTA) update will enable the features to support streaming content straight from the display.
