AMD has already surprised the world of technology with its next-gen Zen architecture at the first phase of this year. Now the company seems to get all set thrill more with its upcoming GPU technology and server CPU lineup. AMD has finally made the air clear by confirming that Vega GPU and Naples server CPU lineup will see their official debut by this quarter only. The information came from official sources when the chip giant was going through a revenue call recently.
According to AMD, the company saw some lucrative hype in terms of its sales margin during the first phase of 2017. It claimed that the high-rise was due to the official launch of Zen architecture based Ryzen CPUs. Though, the company is said to have a profit lapse in comparison to the contemporary market. But, AMD still managed to crack a profitability of about 18 percent more than what was witnessed at the similar phase in the last year. The company also exclaimed to introduce more new attributes by the end of this year. Regarding AMD Vega GPU, the chip magnet assured that it will be unveiled by the end of June this year.
Digital Trends noted that AMD Vega would boast some of the extraordinary features. The magnetic GPU would definitely come in direct competition with Nvidia's higher-end graphics units like GTX1080Ti and Titan XP. Moreover, AMD's latest trend of dropping the price of its goods may also cause serious trouble to its premium rivals in terms of AMD Vega as well. On contrary, AMD is expected to start a new era in server computing with its next improved line of server CPUs, named as AMD Naples, driven by Zen architecture.
AMD is also hinted to hit Intel with its Naples lineup, in terms of data centre usages. While Intel Xeon has set a monarchy over this segment, AMD Naples is now indicated to break this trend with more advanced features boasted on it.
