The inventor of Microsoft HoloLens believes that mobile phones are already dead. He believes hat people are not as interested in it and they have not realized that.
In a discussion about Microsoft HoloLens, its inventor Alex Kipman has confirmed and proclaimed to the public that the mobile phones as a device are already "dead". "The phone is already dead and people just haven't realized," he said.
In an article published in IGN by Hope Korrigan, the sentiment was echoed throughout Microsoft. It was observed that the company chose to focus on their other devices like the Microsoft HoloL ens instead of giving other phones a priority. This is despite the potential 1.5 billion smartphones that would be likely to be sold this year.
The company has also said that they choose Microsoft HoloLens would to stay out of the mobile phone market entirely. Unless the phone could offer something different. Microsoft Marketing Chief Yusuf Mehdi even said something about the stagnant nature of innovation within the mobile phone industry. "We're not going to come out with another device that someone's done," he said.
In an article published on The Next Web by Bryan Clark, they said that arguing against a mixed-reality future could be deemed as difficult.
