NASA Chief Wishes to Reclassify Pluto as a Planet

If you learned in your younger years that there are nine planets with Pluto as the farthest from the sun, you might be part of the generation who no longer has the right information.

Jim Birdenstine, NASA Admin, still believes with all his heart that Pluto must be a planet and is dedicated to the knowledge he learned from his Science teachers.

However, Bridenstine, a former public servant in the US Navy and in Congress before working at NASA, declared his statement during the anniversary of the demotion of Pluto.

It was in 2006 that Pluto was downgraded to "dwarf planet" by the International Astronomical Union by members who redefined a planet.

The problem is Pluto was not qualified to belong the new definition of a planet.

The discovery of Pluto in 1930 only provided little information regarding other celestial bodies and how minute its size is compared to others.

There were more than 1,000 objects that orbited Neptune that were discovered by scientists in 1992 that exceeded the size of Pluto. Thus, International Astronomical Union members began to reclassify the true meaning of a planet, excluding Pluto.
