A recent heartwarming video has just surfaced of a man with Down's syndrome who was given just 24 hours to live after having contracted the COVID-19 but was able to conquer the virus and is now being reunited with his family. The 34 year old Ben McCafferty was discharged from the Bradford Royal Infirmary in West Yorkshire on Saturday right after a two-week battle with the deadly virus.
This heartwarming moment of his reunion with his mother after a number of weeks apart was caught on camera and has been uploaded online. In the footage, you will be able to see Ben along with Neil, his step-father, as Neil talks to the camera saying that "Ben came in a fortnight ago really poorly and we didn't expect him to survive."

According to Neil, the staff told them that Ben's survival rate was very low but then they tried their best to help and support him until he was able to finally beat the virus. Neil said that Ben was really looking forward to go home and see his mother.
The clips then cuts to Ben joyfully walking down the corridor towards the hospital's exit before spotting out his mother Di Margerison. This pair then walked towards each other before hugging one another in an emotional reunion.

Ms. Margerison had previously stayed with her son Ben on the very first night that he was admitted to the hospital but was then unable to continue visiting him due to the restrictions amid the COVID-19 outbreak. Later on in the clip, the viewers will be able to see the mother hold Ben's arm and even encourages him as he thanks those NHS workers that were treating him.
As Ben proceeds to thank the NHS workers for treating him, the whole family then received a huge round of applause as they finally walked out of the hospital hand-in-hand. The head of Nursing at the Bradford Teaching Hospital, Karen Dawber, has said that ben had actually not been expected to survive another 24 hours and was being looked after in palliative care.

Ms. Margerison then spoke to the Yorkshire Evening Post saying that they really thought that Ben would not make it and that it was also the longest time that they have been apart. She also thanks the hospital and says that "the care he received at the hospital saved his life.'
This heartwarming video shows a happy Ben McCafferty being reunited with his mother and the face that he makes is one of pure joy and happiness due to the reunion. The video is filled with much tear joking moments of just how emotionally bonded the mother and son are.
