Snug, but not too tight: a sports bra should be tighter than a regular bra, but should not impede breathing; you should be able to put two fingers between the straps and your shoulders.
Wrinkles are bad: the cup fabric must be smooth. Wrinkles in the fabric are usually an indication that the cup is too big. Conversely, if you spill from the cup, it will be too small.
Watch out for holes: Each underwire should lie flat against the rib housing, under your breast tissue, and should not pinch or burrow.
Adjust the straps: raise your hands above your head. If the band is lifting up, it is usually a sign that it is too big, although the straps or back buckle may need to be adjusted.
