Stray Cat Escapes Death After Being Stabbed In the Head With a Knife

Most of us like to think that these things only happen in movies when a person is able to completely recover from a fatal bullet shot to his head. In this case, it is a cat instead of a person who is cheating death.

A stray cat was found hiding in the bushes with a 6in kitchen knife sticking out of his skull in the Crimean Peninsula.

We consider it a coincidence because Lyudmila Alexeeva, who feeds strays outside her home in Crimea was feeding the other cats as usual when she found out that her favorite cat had a 6in knife sticking out of its head.

According to the Daily Mail, Alexeeva told the local television: "When I went to look for him I found him hiding under a bush and was shocked to see a knife sticking out of his head even though he was still alive."

She said that she then quickly took the cat to the nearest vet in the Peninsula where the knife was surgically removed from the cat's head under an anesthetic.

It is nothing less than a miracle that the blade had missed his brain. The cat, named Zelonyy is now expected to make a full recovery after going under an emergency surgery.

Natalia Morozova, the president of a local charity for homeless animals, says that they think the cat had been stabbed on Friday 13, and had therefore been injured for some time before he was found.

She further says "The cat had probably run off before its attacker could remove the blade."

But after the successful surgery, the vets believe that Zelonyy will be making a full recovery and that they have not seen any changes in behavior since the head injury. The cat will however have to remain under supervision to make sure that an infection does not take place because of the injury.

The charity said that the police have been informed about the incident.
