About Cane Corso
Cane Corso has the world's second most powerful bite. It has a bit force of up to 700 PSI, greater than lions with a bite force of only 650 PSI, according to A-Z Animals. Only the Turkish Kangal Shepherd dog, trained to guard owners' houses against wolves, bears, and jackals, has a stronger bite of 743 PSI.
Sarah-Jane, a dog behaviorist, has some thoughts about the breed. According to him, Cane Corso is known for its "power and strength." With its bite force, it can take down prey much larger than itself, the expert said per a Daily Star report.
There are no physical processes in a Cane Corso that allow the jaws to lock together in place, but if provoked, threatened, assaulted, or detect danger, they will bite down with enormous ferocity.
Males may reach 27.5 inches at the withers, and females can reach 26 inches. They usually weigh between 90 to 120 pounds.
Daily Star cited various dog-related websites like Dog Time and Trending Breeds and said Cane Corsos are ideally suited to experienced pet owners with big, securely fenced yards because they can be destructive when bored. They need enough exercise and mental stimulation.
When it comes to their behavior, Cane Corsos can be aggressive because they are possessive, territorial and has a guarding nature. Its masters can expect undivided loyalty and protection from it.
Cane Corsos can be a trusted companion and family protector. They are intelligent, assertive, and alert, making them great watchdogs. They are also sensitive to their master's needs and incredibly defensive. One can expect them to respond to even the slightest signs of danger, disturbance, or discomfort, according to Pup Vine.
However, they distrust strangers and won't tolerate anyone they do not know in your territory to ensure the owners' safety. But you can train them to socialize to recognize that not everyone outside your home is a threat. Cane Corso puppies are easy to train.
Cane Corso owners said they are well-behaved and friendly towards their close family members and friends.
