A gigantic monster with a "human-like head" was discovered washed ashore on a beach in the United Kingdom.
The 48-foot-long marine monster, which has a hard shell on its back and a human-like head, washed up on Porthleven beach, according to DevonLive.
The mystery monster, which dates back to the 1700s and is described as having green eyes, is said to have reached the beach after a heavy storm in 1986.
Two Boys Found Giant Bizarre Creature On Beach
The weird creature was discovered by two boys playing on the beach looking for shipwrecks when they came upon it. In October 1786, the historic weekly journal Hereford Journal documented the hair-raising occurrence in an article.
A guy from Cornwall reported the event and described how people killed the strange beast.
The article, titled "Sea Monster" reads (per Plymouth Herald), documented how the two boys found the bizarre creature on Sept. 14, 1786, after a violent storm. The boys spotted something of a giant hulk along the coast as they stood on the rock overlooking a little sandy cove at a distance of roughly a mile.

Both lads went straight to the location, confident in their chances of tremendous success. However, they were taken aback when they realized that the bizarre creature was alive.
The children, horrified, dashed over to a group of men they knew and informed them what they had seen. The guys initially refused to believe them but finally decided to follow them and see the creature for themselves.
Eventually, a large group of individuals assembled and decided to equip themselves. Others had hatchets and spit, while some had huge sticks and poker. Some have put their considerations into action.
When they approached the location, they noticed that it was alive, and it lifted its previously unnoticed head and seemingly approached them by crawling on its belly.
They agreed to check on the bizarre being and after an hour of beating and stabbing, it passed away with a groan.
Was This Giant Creature a Mermaid Or A Whale? Experts Remain Baffled
Cornwall Live said different people had different ideas about this creature. Some thought it was a mermaid, while others thought it was a whale.
It measured 48 feet and a half inches in length from the top of its head to the end of its tail and 24 feet and a half inches in diameter in the widest region of its body.
The creature's head was huge, prickly in the hindquarters, and not resembling a man's. Its eyes were greenish, its mouth was large, and its nose was flat. It was shaped like a man from its neck to the navel.
Its back was hard and more difficult to pierce than a turtle's shell. It possessed two small forefeet, fashioned like a monkey's paw, and its hindquarters were seven feet wide at the widest point and only five feet long.
It was unclear what happened to the creature's body or if it was researched. Hundreds of individuals claimed to have seen a 20-foot long snake-like monster with black skin, humps on its back, and a long neck crawling through the sea throughout the years.
Strange sightings off the coast of Cornwall have prompted speculation that plesiosaurs, enormous marine reptiles that lived alongside dinosaurs and were supposed to have gone out 65 million years ago, may still be alive.
However, some also said that the description of the spooky sea creature described in the report was similar to what others called Morgawr. It reportedly slithered its way through the sea and lived off Falmouth Bay.
