UNITED KINGDOM-Falling asleep and waking up in poop that's what a British woman felt as soon as she awakened from the excretions of her pet chihuahua.

Amanda Gommo, 51, was hospitalized for three days with a gastrointestinal ailment contracted from her pet dog Belle, who defecated in her mouth.

"I was enjoying my afternoon snooze with Belle, like I often do, when I suddenly felt something spurt in my mouth," Gommo told South West News Service. "It was awful, and I was vomiting violently for hours afterward." "I couldn't get the taste out of my mouth." Belle was taken to the sanitarium by Gommo's daughter and recognized with an awful stomach virus.

"I was enjoying my afternoon snooze alongside Belle like I often do when I suddenly felt something spray in my mouth," she told news source South West News Service. "I hurried to the washroom, and my kid was in the shower, so I had time to grasp a quick photo before I rinsed it out." Following that day, Gommo started experiencing a number of the same symptoms as the sick dog, prompting her to seek medical treatment.

The Latter Pooping Effect on Gommo

Bad things were yet to come for Gommo, who subsequently displayed equivalent symptoms to the pooch and dialed 111, whereby an ambulance was dispatched to her residence. Emergency responders gave her painkillers to relieve her stomach cramps, and she was advised to drink lots of fluids to wash out the illness.

Unfortunately, Gommo's symptoms worsened over time, and 48 hours later, the pains spread all over her body, prompting her mother to dial 911.

Adding to the New York Post report, other paramedics were called, and the patient was taken to Bristol Royal Infirmary, where she was promptly wired up to a drip. Specialists identified Amanda with a stomach illness that had entered her mouth from Belle's feces days before.

Gommo was placed in the infirmary for three days for examination as medical workers rehydrated her with the electrolytes and carbohydrates she'd lost throughout the tragic event.

"I was held in the infirmary for three days until the bacteria were washed out by a drip," Gommo, who has Chron's disease, revealed. "According to my discharge report, I had a gastrointestinal illness caused by a dog defecating in my mouth; something physicians had never seen before," Gommo stated in a report from IFL Science. The British woman subsequently left the hospital and reports that she is "on the mend."

Animal Feces Effect on Human Body

According to a report from Medical News Today, animal excrement may carry germs that could trigger human diseases. Individuals must wash their hands thoroughly after having contact with animals, their clothing and rubbish trays, and dirt in the backyard. Those parts that follow will go through the possible consequences of having contact with several kinds of animal manure.

Furthermore, a patient who ingested human or animal excrement may become infected with various pathogens, germs, or parasites.

Microorganisms are microscopic creatures that may dwell in the intestines of people and animals. When someone consumes excrement from anyone infected with a parasite, they may also get infected. Cryptosporidium and Giardia parasites can induce diarrhea and dehydration.

A physician might prescribe medicine to get rid of parasites.
