A greenland shark is generally not known for eating moose at all, because it spends most of its time in the oceans and the moose, obviously, is on the land.
So, how did this shark choke on moose? The shark is generally not known to have the capacity to eat a fully grown moose as the two live in totally different environments. However, the sharks are scavengers known to feast on the carcasses that find themselves into the water (sea, oceans etc.) like polar bears and even reindeer.
A shark that had choked on a moose is said to have been rescued by the two men who were passing by along the harbor located in Norris Arm North. In the nearby region of Newfoundland's north east coast, they happened to spot something similar to a beached whale.
As soon as they went closer, they found that it was a shark (and not a whale) which was doing all it could to survive. They reported being shocked at what they saw.
The two men naming Derrick Chaulk and Jeremy Ball successfully dislodged the moose meat from the greenland shark by tugging it out.
Ian Hamilton, who is a shark ecologist, told CBC News that the shark which is known to be docile may have choked while eating a calf that probably had drowned. The two men decided to put the shark back into the water after removing the moose that it had choked on.
Once this shark was put back in the water, it laid there for some minutes before it started breathing again. After thirty minutes the poor shark is said to have swam and lifted its tail heading into the sea.
