A Brit tourist was surprised by what she discovered on a beach in Egypt. She found grim remains of something she couldn't identify.
Bizarre Snake-Like Remains on an Egyptian Beach
Carole Ann was walking on an Egyptian beach in a resort town when she discovered strange snake-like remains on a deserted beach in El Gouna. She found the sighting strange and took photos of it, Daily Star reported.
Carole said she was reluctant to touch the corpse, which she described as something with "white in places." Experts were also surprised by what she discovered.
According to Carole, she and her husband stopped by to investigate some crab life, and they stumbled upon the eerie corpse. She said it was easy to notice in the bare desert sand and appeared to have come from the ocean.
Carole said she had never seen something like it before. Although fascinating, the sight was also repulsive.
She said it was very pale and almost grey. It was almost white in places with red and yellow membranes or veiny parts to it.
She added that it was with and looked like a transparent membrane over the flesh-type substance. Online commenters had various suggestions, including "sheep intestines."
What Did The Experts Say?
Expert marine biologist Ahmed Shawky suggested that, based on the photo, it could be part of the intestine from a dugong. Paul Vincent, a fellow biologist, agreed that it was a possibility. However, he also claimed that it could be an intestine of a larger animal like a dolphin. However, he ruled out the chances of shark sightings.
Additionally, Vincent said some sharks would pick off young or injured dolphins and dugongs, like oceanic whitetip sharks, silky sharks, and silvertip sharks.

He also suggested that it's also possible that the dolphin or dugong may have died naturally or from a propeller strike from a boat, and sharks scavenge the carcass. The intestines could have come out and were washed ashore.
Another Bizarre Creature Washed Ashore
It wasn't the first bizarre creature washed ashore on a beach. In a previous report from Science Times, Suzanne Choate Arceneaux, a frequent visitor of Port Bolivar Beach in Galveston Bay, also found had a similar encounter earlier this year.
She found many dead creatures walking Crystal beach, including seagulls, pelicans, stingrays, and jellyfish. However, what caught her attention was an eel-like creature that she couldn't identify due to its strange and creepy appearance.
It had a long, slender body, sharp teeth, an open mouth, short and stout fins, and beady eyes. Some netizens said it looked like it came from the depths of hell. Several said it was similar to the sandworm from Beetlejuice.
However, Seth Patterson, a Conservation Consultant at San Antonio Water System in Texas, identified it as a snapper eel.
Mark Fisher, the TWPD Coastal Fisheries Science Director, echoed the same suggestion. He added that snapper eels are somewhat common in Galveston Bay but remain burrowed, so most people do not see them.
