Many players wait for patches because of one thing: raids. These large-scale events gather dozens of players and give them an unforgettable experience. Mostly, strong bosses, aggressive mobs, and lots of challenges. But the reward is appropriate - new epic loot and the continuation of the story of Azeroth.

The latest patch opened a new raid on the Dragon Isles - Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible. If you still have not lived that adventure, this article will be a great starting point. You will learn about the history of the raid, its dangers, and bosses, as well as valuable rewards.

For those who seek a tough yet fair challenge, we recommend Aberrus Boost service. You will get all the help you need to conquer this raid in a blaze of glory!

A journey to Deathwing's lab

Yes, that's right, this is the workshop of the Neltharion, better known as Deathwing. Thousands years ago, he conducted terrible experiments here to manipulate and alter the world. There the first dracthyrs were created by the Worldbreaker.

For many years Deathwing's research was hidden from the eyes of mortals in the depths of the Obsidian Citadel. Now its doors are open to those who wish to possess the secret knowledge.

The goal of the heroes of Azeroth is to prevent the legacy of Aberrus from falling into the wrong hands. Who knows what villains can do with such power...

Getting There

The raid will be fully available at the end of June, with the last Raid Finder Wing opening on June 19th. To get to Aberrus, travel to the northern part of Zaralek Cavern. It is called the Aberrus Approach. You can fly to Flight Master Keskos in Obsidian Rest - he is the nearest one. There is also a world quest that can help in travel called the Shadowflame Snuffer.

Bosses

The raid is divided into four locations, where heroes can face nine bosses in total:

1. The Discarded Works

  • Kazzara, the Hellforged - a powerful dragon with shadowflame attacks.

  • The Amalgamation Chamber -- two elementals with fire and shadow abilities.

  • The Forgotten Experiments - three monstrous dracthyrs dealing arcane, physical and elemental damage.

2. Fury of Giants

  • Warlord Kagni - a tough giant warrior with devastating flaming abilities and physical attacks.

  • Rashok the Elder - another giant with some attacks similar to Kagni, just with a touch of magic.

  • The Vigiliant Steward, Zskarn - a sly dragonkin, which uses various traps and golems.

3. Neltharion's Shadow

  • Magmorax - a hydra-like creature specialized in heavy flaming attacks.

  • Echo of Neltharion - a dragonkin warrior with various attacks. He can cause volcanic, physical, and volcanic damage.

4. Edge of the Void

  • Scalecommander Sarkareth - a powerful dracthyr with all relevant abilities. During the fight, this boss will be slowly corrupted by the void, becoming even more powerful in the process.

Most of the bosses are powerful Draconic creatures, which will give a raid party a tough challenge. The bosses inflict many types of damage like shadow, fire, arcane, and physical. Every one of them has at least two phases and uses a large number of devastating abilities. So it will be best to check an individual guide for each boss on the internet. For your convenience, we'd better not go detailed here.

Mobs

Aberrus trash mobs are various giants, demons, elementals, and dragonkin. They also use different abilities, so it is best to go into battle well-prepared. For example, Sundered Manaweaver casts bolts of arcane magic, and Entropic Hatred uses darkness against its foes.

Loot

Aberrus item level varies from 402 up to 457. The quality of the gear depends on the difficulty of the raid. And also the number of bosses you defeated - the last ones drop the most valuable things.

You can get the best loot using tier set tokens gained from bosses. Players can turn them into set pieces. There are four types of tokes related to classes:

  • Dreadful: Death Knight, Demon Hunter, Warlock

  • Mystic: Druid, Hunter, Mage

  • Venerated: Paladin, Priest, Shaman

  • Zenith: Evoker, Monk, Rogue, Warrior

Every class has its own unique looking set with powerful 2- and 4-piece Set Bonuses. Pay attention: some bosses drop only certain types of tokens dedicated to various item types and classes.

As for non-equipment rewards, heroes can get a new drakewatcher manuscript for their dragon. Highland Drake is quite spiky and sinister, so it will be a fine addition to the collection of the grim character. Also, by completing the Glory of the Aberrus Raider achievement players will be granted by Shadowflame Shalewing mount. This magma carapace has a unique appearance.

Good luck

This quick guide will be enough for many players to start their adventure in Aberrus. Prepare your gear, fill your bag with potions, and gather your brothers in arms - deadly battles await!
