104-Year-Old Woman Reveals Secret to Longevity: Three Dr. Peppers a Day

Elizabeth Sullivan from Fort Worth, Texas, who just turned 104 years old, says that there is only one doctor that she would like to thank for her long life - Dr. Pepper. She says that doctors have told her that Dr. Pepper would kill her.

"Every doctor that sees me says they'll kill you, but they die and I don't. So there must be a mistake somewhere," Elizabeth says. She further says that she doesn't need the advice of real doctors, and so, she keeps another doctor nearby.

It was during her 60's when she fell in love with Dr. Pepper's "23 flavors" trademark. She says that she has been drinking 3 per day for over 40 years. Maybe that's the reason why doctors say that the soft drink might kill her.

"People try to give me coffee for breakfast. Well, I'd rather have a Dr. Pepper," she says.

And that's not it, she even got a very big surprise for her 104th birthday - a beautiful cake shaped like Dr. Pepper. It was special for her, or we must say, for a Dr. Pepper die-hard fan.

On her birthday, she said "When you live to be 104 and still can talk to nice people, you deserve some Dr. Pepper, but I never expected this."

To top all of that off, she even received a gift basket from Larry Young, the CEO of Dr. Pepper Snapple Group.

Elizabeth taught math at Paschal High School for over 15 years, and then tutored football players for free. She is a well known person in Fort Worth, Texas. Today, she spends her time thinking about who and what she is thankful for (Dr. Pepper is the first on that list).

According to CBS Local, when Elizabeth was asked about the secret of living past 100 years, she said that there really is no secret, except the fact that you just keep living.
