For the first time, a witness of the bizarre 1973 alien abduction in Mississippi, which was recently featured in a Netflix show, has spoken up.
1973 Alien Abduction Witness Speaks Up For the First Time
In an interview, the witness recalled witnessing five-foot aliens come from a UFO with an oval shape and flashing blue lights. This allegedly occurred over the Pascagoula River when the aliens scooped fishermen up and brought them to the night sky.
When the craft went back, she claimed that they were unconscious and slumped over.
The witness, Maria Blair, has kept these recollections a secret for several decades out of fear of ridicule. However, she shared her video testimony with the Daily Mail in 2023.
She also adds that, along with her now-deceased husband, she was able to witness the unfolding of the entire thing.
Philip Mantle and Dr. Irene Scott, both UFO researchers, interviewed Blair twice on two different occasions. The first was in 2019, and the second was four years later. The researchers say that she stuck to her story.
However, the woman did not reveal details to the US military or sheriff department that spoke to the two men, Calvin Parker and Charlie Hickson, several decades ago. As the story of the two men hit the headlines and ended up featuring both of them on TV, it is not clear if Blair took some of the details of the fishermen in her recent interviews.
Dr. Scott also learned that Blair witnessed the UFO go back and forth in the sky in a manner that an airplane cannot do. Blair also claims to have had a close encounter with one being, with confidence that it was not a fish.
Mantle also shares that he was able to locate the couple through an anonymous comment that their youngest daughter posted on a YouTube video. The researcher adds that the Blairs did not seek journalistic attention, money, or fame.
Angela Maria, the eldest daughter of the Blairs, also recalled the event. Angela shared that her mother was always curious about what happened to the two men and whether they were still in the region. Out of fear that the aliens would return for her, Blair only shared the story with her parents, daughters, and ex-father-in-law.
Case of the 1973 Alien Abduction in Mississippi
Though the case is already decades old, it has been shed light on again thanks to the new docu-series "Files of the Unexplained" featured on Netflix. The show has sparked fresh interest regarding what took place that evening.
In the first episode of the docu-series, the experiences of Calvin Parker, who was 19 years old back then, were featured. This was after Parker maintained that he fought an alien off after getting around her neck.
Blair shares her story, noting that the aliens left twice when they brought Parker and Charlie Hickson back from the craft and that the ship took off straight up when they reentered it.
Following their claims, both Hickson and Parker made international headlines. In a 1973 video, Hickson detailed the scene, claiming that a UFO flashed blue lights as it went down to the marsh. It revealed three creatures with a height of five feet, wrinkled skin, and pincer-like claws that seized the duo of men.
Parker added that a substantial floating eye looked into their frozen bodies for roughly half an hour. He explained that they conducted a thorough examination similar to what a doctor does.
After the two men were interviewed, they were strategically left alone in an interrogation room where they were taped. This was done with hopes that the two would get straight into their story.
However, it appeared that the two men were preoccupied with processing and coping with their terror. They later passed polygraph exams.
Parker was just 18 or 19 when it happened, while Hickson was 42. Parker passed away on August 24, 2023, before recounting his story to the filmmakers behind the "Files of the Unexplained" documentary on Netflix. Hickson also passed away on September 9, 2011, at 90 years old.
