According to a report, China unveiled a new robotic dog that transformed the man's best friend into a killing machine.
China's Military Unveiled New Robotic Dog
During recent military exercises with Cambodia, China's military demonstrated a robot dog with an automatic rifle strapped on its back.
According to a soldier identified as Chen Wei in a video released by state broadcaster CCTV, the robotic canine can be a new member in their operation and replace human members when conducting surveillance, identifying the enemy, and striking the target.
A remote operator controls the robot dog. In the two-minute footage captured during the China-Cambodia "Golden Dragon 2024" exercise, it can be seen walking, hopping, lying down, and going backward. The robot that can shoot a weapon guides an infantry unit inside a mock building.
In the film's final segment, an automatic weapon is positioned beneath a six-rotor aerial drone, symbolizing China's "variety of intelligent unmanned equipment."
Robot dogs and, of course, tiny airborne drones are not new to the military. China's rifle-armed electronic dogs were also featured in a CCTV video from the previous year, which showed them participating in a combined military drill in China in November with the troops of Cambodia, Lao, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam.

China is one of the biggest exporters of drones worldwide, but last year, it implemented export restrictions on the technology, citing the need to "protect national security and interests."
Still, the People's Liberation Army is receiving much media attention thanks to the artificial dogs.
Furthermore, the dogs have been appearing on China's strictly monitored social media for at least a year.

Israel Defense Forces Use Robot Dogs
The use of robot dogs on the battlefield is nothing new. Last year, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) bought three robot dogs to gather intelligence, save lives, and help combat soldiers operate optimally.
According to reports, the robot dogs' numerous vision sensors enable them to identify objects and humans in dimly lit areas or at night. Additionally, they possess a gadget that allows them to map their environment in three dimensions (3D) using standard sensors like laser radar (lidar). Because of their characteristics, they are believed to detect explosive charges, prevent harm, and save lives.
They outperform previous alleged IDF robots with caterpillar drives in terms of steadiness in a variety of environments, including steep inclines and staircases. There are expected to be no current plans to supply the IDF with additional robot dogs.
There are certain disadvantages to these robotic dogs, though. Although their battery life is up to three hours, they only last up to 90 minutes. Also, they can only support up to 10 kg of weight.
