Nurse Couture, a clothing brand that offers the perfect blend of style, function, and comfort into the typical nurse's uniform both on- and off-duty, celebrates a milestone achievement of building a community of nurses with over 17,000 members. Owned by Natasha Clements (affectionately known as Nurse Tash), a seasoned nurse with over 20 years of experience, Nurse Couture aims to empower and elevate the backbone of the healthcare system through practical luxury, effortless style, and a community that uplifts all its members.
Nurse Couture's story begins with Nurse Tash doing what she loves most: nursing. Twenty years ago, Nurse Tash started her journey in healthcare as a home health aide. When she discovered this to be her passion, she quickly became a licensed practical nurse and spent the next decade caring for her patients and fellow nurses in long-term care, assisted living, restorative care, and more. Then, she achieved her license as a registered nurse (RN) and began her progression as an RN through travel nursing.
That's when the COVID-19 pandemic hit the USA. As she traveled through six different states supporting different medical facilities against the disease, Nurse Tash saw the dire need for increased support and the vital role nurses play within healthcare. Therefore, her entrepreneurial journey began. She offered nursing scrubs from numerous brands—working hand in hand with these brands, all in the midst of the century's biggest healthcare crisis. However, there was one thing each of these brands had in common. They did not produce scrubs worthy of the nursing community. Their scrubs were low in quality, and the company simply did not pay its consumers the attention they deserved.
In identifying this lack of support, Nurse Tash set out to build her own community in 2022 and later introduced Nurse Couture's scrubs in 2024. The brand strives to produce sustainable, inclusive, and empowering pieces that are unwaveringly stylish.
Nurse Couture knows exactly what nurses need, both on and off the clock. Determined to make a difference in her community, Nurse Tash designs and handpicks each product line and ensures that her scrubs are tailored for nurses of all shapes and sizes. "This time around, I made the approach different. I'm blending my passion for nursing, innovation, and fashion," Nurse Tash says. "It's not just scrubs, it's a lifestyle and a community that supports each other."
Community has always been at the forefront of this enterprise, which is why the Nurse Couture Society was the first component of the brand that she developed. Now, with over 17,400 members, the Nurse Couture Society is a place where nurses can gather and educate others about different pathways, stay up to date with the latest healthcare news, notify each other about opportunities, and simply uplift each other. Open to all healthcare professionals, Nurse Couture Society members will get special discounts and access to product lines and new releases.
Nurse Tash is particularly proud of the comprehensive toolkits the society offers its 17,000+ members, including weekly discussions, the live interviews she has conducted with nurses in different industries, and partnerships with wellness providers. With one weekly post named 'What did you do for self-care this week?' Nurse Tash emphasizes the need for nurses to relax, unwind, and take care of themselves. "We are constantly looking after other people, but you can't pour from an empty cup."
Nurse Coutures's product line reflects its dedication to celebrating and empowering nurses with fashionable, sustainable scrubs in the Stylish Standard and Luxe collections and a seamless transition from leaving the office to happy hour. Alongside their scrub collection, Nurse Couture's popular Off-Duty collection includes t-shirts, hats, cups, tote bags, bracelets, and pajamas—the brand's lines equip nurses with the pride and confidence they're due both on and off the clock.
After the Nurse Couture Society saw two years of enormous success, the journey of Nurse Couture scrubs began, and its growing community showed no signs of slowing down. With plans to further expand its product lines, nurses can feel assured that their workplace will never lack fashion and style. Moreover, Nurse Tash aims to introduce digital courses to the Nurse Couture Society and create resources to inspire and educate nurses about the many pathways they can take in their professions. The brand's long-term goal is to establish the Nurse Couture Society Scholarship and offer financial support to aspiring nurses and nursing students.
Nurse Couture continues to empower its nursing community by celebrating their lives and legacies. As Nurse Tash states, "This is my way of giving back to the nursing community." Natasha Clements' unwavering commitment to celebrating and serving nurses is reflected in the thriving community of the Nurse Couture Society, which remains dedicated to improving the lives of nurses nationwide.
