Researchers have recently discovered a new way of preventing further cancerous brain tumor growth. The pre-clinical research could lead to changes in how the cancer is treated.
Medulloblastoma, or aggressive tumors, is found to respond well to arsenic trioxide, a drug used to treat leukemia. Using the drug for pediatric brain cancer may be used for chemotherapy since young patients cannot undergo radiation therapy.
