Does Life On Mars Really Exist? Scientists Say It's Possible

NASA have already been sending satellites on Mars for 50 years already. However, as the curiosity of the people is poked about some of the discoveries on Mars, the question hasn’t still been answered. Does life really exist on Mars?

According to Forbes, the mission to Mars was first started in1960. Mariner 4 was then described to successfully capture 21 photos on its mission last 1965. NASA's Mariner 6, 7 and the USSR's Mars 2 and 3 also had the chance to launch a mission to Mars.

With that being said, the previous satellites gave some important details on Mars, which that it showed the planet’s moon-like surface. But the greatest discovery was made last 1971 through the Mariner 9 satellite. Mars is now perceived to have dust storms and extinct volcanoes. The largest chasm compared to other planets was also seen on Mars named Valles Marineris.

Aside from that, methane vents and flowing surface features were also seen on Mars which made scientists believe in the existence of microbial life on the planet. Evidence of liquid and organic materials was also stated to be seen through the satellites launched to the planet. Nonetheless, ESA's ExoMars Rover and NASA's Mars 2020 were identified to be launched for scientists to delve deeper into the life behind Mars.

Meanwhile, Chronicle Day reported that NASA geologist, Katie Stack Morgan who also helped in navigating the rover Curiosity said that life might exist on Mars due to the pebbles discovered at the Red Planet which is similar to pebbles on Earth. The pebbles and stones, which were described to be round, was also seen to be an evidence that water exists on Mars.

On the other hand, Rob Manning, chief engineer at JPL said that life on Mars couldn’t exist as well. Since the things on Mars were developed on a “microbial level, or as single-cell organisms,” life is possible on the planet’s underground compared to its surface. Rest assured, NASA is on its way to discover what happened before if Mars was previously habitable and what changes occurred on the Red Planet to make it change.
