Aside from the PlayStation VR optimization, the new firmware update has made the PlayStation 4 Pro capable of the "Boost Mode." The said mode will allow the PlayStation 4 Pro to have faster performance than before in games with variable framerates.
More so, according to Mashable, the "Boost Mode" for the PlayStation 4 Pro will provide the Pro to have an extra power that will surely improve gaming performance. However, it's still unknown whether the new firmware upgrade can bring more for it isn't widely released yet.
Though Sony hasn't mentioned anything regarding the "Boost Mode" when it announced the 4.5 update, it confirmed its existence. Meanwhile, a spokesperson said that the Boost mode in the PlayStation 4 Pro runs at a higher GPU and CPU clock speed before it can manage to improve the gameplay.
Thus, when the "Boost Mode" had been activated, the PlayStation 4 Pro can receive massive improvements on its frame rate or load times. Likewise, the mode could lead to some performance quirks sin some games but can be fixed by turning the feature off.
