Sony announced four new Xperia smartphones at Mobile World Congress, Barcelona last month. The company released two cheaper models XA1 and XA1 Ultra with two much-anticipated smartphones XZs and XZ Premium. Here is the comparison between Sony Xperia XZs and XZ Premium to help users choose the perfect device.
Sony Xperia XZ Premium is powered by latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor that is first on any smartphone and very faster than XZs' Snapdragon 820 processor. XZ Premium comes with 64 GB internal storage while XZs gives two options, 32 GB and 64 GB to its users. Both phones feature 4 GB RAM. For connectivity, Premium uses Bluetooth 5.0 and XZs uses Bluetooth 4.2. XZ Premium uses 3,230 mAh battery while XZs uses 2,900 mAh battery. As written in Tom's Guide, XZ Premium would include Smart Stamina battery management that uses machine learning to determine phone usage and give an exact estimate of remaining battery life.
Sony Xperia XZs (5.7 ounces) is quite lighter than XZ Premium (6.8 ounces). Xperia XZs features 52-inch IPS LCD display with 1,080 × 1,920 pixels (424 ppi) resolution. On the other hand, XZ Premium features a quite big 5.5-inch display with 2,160 × 3,840 pixels (807 ppi) resolution. According to Digital Trends, XZ Premium is bigger and better looking than XZs with diamond-cut at edges and wrapped in durable Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Both smartphones feature curved edges.
When it comes to software, both phones are from Sony Xperia XZ series so there is no difference between XZs and XZ Premium. Sony Xperia XZs and XZ Premium run Android 7 Nougat and built-in Sony's Actions adaptive software. Both smartphones boast 19-megapixel primary camera with Motion-Eye predictive capture technology that allows the user to capture slow-motion video at 960 fps. There are 13-megapixel selfie cameras in both phones but XZ Premium's camera has a 22 mm wide-angle lens.
Sony Xperia XZ will release on April 5 for $700. There is no official announcement on XZ Premium's release but it is expected to release after XZs and with definitely more price than XZs'. XZ Premium is a perfect choice for users who love to capture amazing photos and 4K video.
