Ars Technica reported that Qualcomm is now gearing up the use of mobile platforms to build low-end 200-series chips. The aim is to create chips for the old-style feature phone like the flip one and to bring low-cost handsets with some smart features. The new "205 mobile platform" is playing a major role in this field.

The new Qualcomm chip covers a list of important features. With the new "205 mobile platform" the low-end phones can unveil the LTE feature with a 150 Mbps download speed and 50Mbps upload speed. The dual-SIM phones support the VoLTE and the Voice over Wi-Fi activities.

A few days ago Qualcomm reported that it may not use the word "processor" anymore to indicate the complete theory of hardware and software. Instead, the American company will use the word "platform". An interesting fact is Qualcomm will use the Linux-based operating system for the said project. No doubt the new "205 mobile platform" uncovers a new trend of using flip phones or the old phones with a new set of features.

The wireless connectivity of these phones includes Bluetooth 4.1 and 2.4GHz 802.11n Wi-Fi. Qualcomm provides its Adreno GPU and a dual-core 1.1 GHz CPU to make the handsets more prominent and effective. The American semiconductor company is gearing up a 480p display support.
