Google's Pixel 2 Latest Update: New Details Revealed

Google hasn't generally shied away from providing wide screen smartphones, as evident with its huge offerings previously. Since the company has finally begun to release its self-branded gadgets, new reports are recommending that Google might be ready to release yet another massive Google Pixel smartphone that could be comparable in size to the Nexus 6 or the Nexus 6P.

As indicated by a report from Forbes, the most recent leaks with respect to the codenames for Google's upcoming flagship offerings might be an indication of a giant new Google Pixel variation. The company is expected to release three new variations this time, to be specific the Google Pixel 2, the Google Pixel 2 XL, and a third unknown variation.

Prior in the week, a few leaks had surfaced on the web, which had revealed that the Pixel 2 and the Pixel 2 XL is being produced under the codenames, "Walleye" and "Muskie," individually. As indicated by Droid Life, a few sources had notified them that a third smartphone that is being created is referred to as "Taimen."

Google likes to give its distinctive smartphones codenames based on actual fish names. Interestingly, the sort of fish that a smartphone is named after gives a few clues with respect to its size and how it will be positioned. Such as, the past Nexus smartphones were named after fishes established on their sizes, with the Nexus 4 named "Mako" and the large Nexus 6 getting the "Shamu" codename.

This is also the case with the present generation Google Pixel smartphones, with the 5.1-inch Google Pixel getting the "Sailfish" codename, while the bigger Google Pixel XL got the "Marlin" codename. Taking after this pattern, a Muskie fish is significantly bigger than a Walleye, yet a Taimen, which could weigh as much as 220 pounds, is the heaviest fish of them all.

The codename for the third unknown gadget firmly implies that it might be bigger than the first Google Pixel XL, maybe even verging on tablet region or territory. As for now, there is still no confirmation to bolster or support this claim, yet based on the company's reputation, a massive Google Pixel XXL might be a major possibility.
