After taking the online world by storm with his music covers in the International Space Station, retired astronaut Chris Hadfield is set for a come back with an online movie. "Miniverse" will be featuring Hadfield on a US road trip all about the solar system.
In an article in Space, Chris Hadfield will be on a road trip from the East Coast to the West Coast. The producers of "Miniverse" scaled down the solar system using the US as a reference so that people can have a better grasp of the galaxy. The East Coast's distance going to the West Coast will be compared to the 3.7 billion miles distance of the sun to the dwarf planet Pluto.
"Miniverse" will not only feature Chris Hadfield but also other renowned personalities in the field of astronomy and related sciences. Some of the road trip passengers are Michio Kaku, a theoretical physicist; Derrick Pitts, director of the Fels Planetarium at The Franklin Institute in Philadelphia; and Laura Danly, an astronomer at the Griffith Observatory.
Hadfield rose to fame as the first Canadian astronaut to walk in space. He also had a wide online following not just because he's an astronaut, but also because of his singing skills. According to CBC News, Chris Hadfield's cover of David Bowie's "Space Oddity" aboard the International Space Station went viral with over a million of views on YouTube.
Moreover, the producers of "Miniverse" also shared that space enthusiasts will truly love the film as it will not only showcase the different planets of the solar system but also the landmarks of the US. Giant images of the planets will be seen hovering over the famous American landscapes such as Mars hanging over New York City and Jupiter over the Washington, D.C.
