Pixel XL Successor ‘Muskie’ Spotted in AOSP

Google has been largely rumoured to work on the next gen range of Pixel devices for quite a long time now after witnessing the grand success of the original Pixel and Pixel XL. The speculation has now been confirmed to some extent with the latest benchmarking discovered in the Android Open Source Project zone. Two Pixel blazing devices were earlier believed to be launched later this year with codenames Walleye and Muskie. Currently, the first ever sightings of Muskie has been spotted in the AOSP benchmarking.

Not much has been revealed about Muskie at this time; however, according to Android Headlines, the mentioned patent of next gen Pixel range would evolve with 2nd generation technology. The report further stated that the other Pixel successor has had been hinted to have the codename 'Walleye.' Alongside Muskie, Walleye was also seen on AOSP stacks at a later part. Another Pixel patent, codenamed Taimen, was also discovered beside both Walleye and Muskie. It has now been hinted by potential sources that Google is now focusing on more internal activities for developing these masterpieces.

Muskie and Walleye are most likely to be produced by HTC. Although, tight competition to get the manufacturing rights of these next Pixel stunners is reportedly going on among major OEMs like LG, Coolpad, and TCL etc. other than HTC. After the final negotiation is over and the deal is sealed, the winning original equipment manufacturer is expected to make up the first instance of the above said Pixel successors by the first phase of 2018. Muskie is expected to look more like the next edition of Pixel Xl, Android Authority reported.

Walleye is indicated to be designed as a future variant of the original Pixel. Taimen has been hinted to be implemented as a large device. Although, it is still not clear whether Taimen would be a smartphone or bigger gadget like a tablet. The rest can be confirmed only when Google officially announces any thoughts about it.
