AMD Ryzen 3 Features Leaked: The CPU Hinted To Be Powerful Than What Was Expected

AMD has already been able to gain a significant amount of appreciation with the first set of processing units made with its high-end Zen architecture. The company has already started shipping Ryzen 7 desktop CPUs which have created a positive vibe throughout the computing world. The next variant Zen technology based Ryzen processors: Ryzen 5 is about to make its debut on April 11, 2017. In the meantime, potential insights about the entry level quotient of this lineup have been revealed.

The youngest member of Zen family Ryzen 3 is hinted to see its launch in the later part this year. But motherboard maker AS Rock's benchmarking has now fetched accountable information about its essential specs. According to Computer Base, the Ryzen 3 1200 has been equipped with base clock ranging to 3.1 Ghz. The cache has been built with a frequency of 2 MB with limitations to L2 cache. As for core specifications, Ryzen 3 1200 reportedly sports 4 cores setup. As for TDP, the chipset has the power capacity up to 65 Watt

As per a report by Digital Trends, AMD has already made it clear earlier that all its Zen architecture based CPUs would be unlocked. Which means that all the flagships of Ryzen range would be overclockable. Therefore, high-level operations and multitasking would be easily accessible with all the Ryzen processors, no matter it is Ryzen 7 or Ryzen 3. However, there are still confusions about certain features like whether Ryzen 3 range would have the symmetrical multithreading (SMT) capability similar to Ryzen 5 and Ryzen 7 flagships.

Hopefully, AMD would specify these things about Ryzen 3 as soon as it officially announces the chipset range. Also, potential sources have not yet been able to point out the price index of Ryzen 3 1200. As it is indicated, the lowest variant of Ryzen 5 will come with a price tag of $169, it can be expected that AMD will retail Ryzen 3 with a price tag lesser than the pricing of its elder siblings.
