OnePlus 5 is reportedly coming instead of the OnePlus 4. The Chinese manufacturer is said to skip the number 4 after 3T.
OnePlus 5 is said to be coming out in the market this year instead of the spreading rumors on the coming of the OnePlus 4 flagship killer. The Next Web reported that the Chinese manufacturer geared up for the OnePlus 5 because in Chinese, "4" is an unlucky number.
The Chinese superstition knew as Tetraphobia, number "four" is oftentimes associated with bad luck and means death or disease. Thus, OnePlus does not want to take the risk in the production of OnePlus 4 and jumped over the name OnePlus 5.
Meanwhile, even though the name of the next flagship killer from OnePlus sounds very confusing, people prefer to use the name OnePlus 5 instead. According to Express, OnePlus 5 will be sporting an industrial design with a dual-curved and edge-to-edge display similar to Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. The industrial design is said to be the mark of OnePlus for the purpose of keeping the overall footprint of the device relatively small though it has a large screen size.
Additionally, OnePlus 5 industrial design is said to be coming with a ceramic body with an extremely high-powered 4,000mAh battery charged using USB Type-C. Also, The OnePlus 5 is expected to have as high as 23MO rear camera and a 16MO front camera for selfies and video calls.
Sources even claim that the OnePlus5 flagship killer will keep its 6GB of RAM just like in the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T. However, pundits suggest that the flagship killer will be better having an 8GB RAM to pair with its 256GB internal storage and Snapdragon 825 processor.
Whatever the name will be used for the next flagship killer of OnePlus, whether it's called OnePlus 4 or OnePlus there's a thing that will make sense- its specs and features. Besides, OnePlus is known for its inexpensive price phones with compelling features.
