Drinking Beetroot Juice Possible Benefits: Keep Younger-Looking Image And Boost Brain Performance

Getting older is not a problem anymore for a new research was found to provide bolster effects on the brain thru simply drinking beetroot juice before starting some workout. Medical News Today reported that researchers have found out the possible benefits of drinking beetroot juice for older adults, and the results were amazing.

It is proven that drinking beetroot juice right before the regular workout can enhance greater connectivity in the brain regions that are associated with motor functions. This means that beetroot juice is perfect for older adults who are struggling for their motor functions.

Co-author W.Jack Rejeski of the research team from the Department of Health and Exercise Science at Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, NC discovered the benefits of drinking beetroot juice. The team pursues the juice to be a maintenance drink to help them increase brain connectivity and boost brain performance.

Furthermore, according to DoctorNDTV, drinking beetroot juice can further keep younger-looking image for it contains potassium, iron, magnesium, folic acid, carbohydrates, antioxidants, protein, soluble fiber and vitamins A, B6 and C. With all of its contents the beetroot is expected to build better stamina, reduced blood pressure, increase exercise performance and improved blood flow.

Beetroot is a dark red vegetable and its juice can help makes the somatomotor cortex of the brain becomes stronger. Somatomotor cortex is the region that helps to control the body movements as it receives and processes signals from the muscles.

The study which showed the benefits of drinking beetroot juice was conducted by the researchers and participated by 26 participants with aged 55 years and above. All of the participants have high blood pressures and none were engaged in regular exercise. Half of the participants were given the beetroot juice containing 560 milligrams of nitrate, while the other half consumed a placebo with low nitrates.

The participants who drank the beetroot juice showed greater brain connectivity than those who did not. The study showed that drinking beetroot juice is the solution for older adults to increase and boost their brain performance and if possible prevent stroke and other muscles and brain dysfunctions.
