Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has been in the news lately, due to their upcoming flagship smartphone Mi 6 launching into the markets on Apr. 28. With that said, their vague presence in the United States and other European markets is a rising concern for all Xiaomi fans living in those regions.
Xiaomi has acknowledged all those concerns while still continuing to assure their fans that their arrival into the aforementioned markets will happen sooner or later. In a report from Engadget, the Chinese smartphone maker is now primarily concentrating on stabilizing themselves in over 30 markets worldwide.
With that said, the report also reveals that Xiaomi has no current plans of releasing their latest Mi 6 smartphone to the USA or any other European countries, anytime soon. Wang Xiang, the current Senior Vice President of Xiaomi is quite aware of Mi fans procuring their devices through unofficial channels.
In a statement to Cnet, he mentioned that Xiaomi wants to be well prepared before entering all developed markets and hence the delay in their arrival is fairly not possible at least for some more time. It's fairly obvious about the lack of Mi smartphones through direct channels in the US or any other European market for that matter since most average smartphone buyers purchase their devices through carrier contracts.
Hence, it's Xiaomi's intent to not disappoint all Mi fans in regions where the company isn't ready to make its presence yet. They've been trying hard to maintain their stronghold in their homeland since the competition is pretty much intense in China itself compared elsewhere.
Xiaomi has slipped down in competition China to fifth place in China, overtaken by their key competitors like Oppo, Huawei, and Vivo.Xiaomi is still a prominent Chinese brand worldwide likely due to their low prices and top of the line hardware in their smartphones.
