Samsung has rolled out a new update for all Galaxy S8 smartphones released this year. The update is likely due to the fact that some units of the new S8 flagship device apparently had some red tint issues on their phone screens. The manufacturer had acknowledged the problem and had promised a quick fix for it.
While Samsung Galaxy S8 smartphone launch was effective and was praised by the reviewers, there are however some problems that still persist. With what seems to be a major downside, the Galaxy S8 too has some minor issues. One among them is the clearly visible red tint on some units.
A report from Ubergizmo mentions that the manufacturer had earlier acknowledged the issue which was found to be more on the software side than with the hardware itself, and has now fulfilled their promise with an update that likely fixes the issue. It seems that the South Korean firm had set a time frame that was expected to end this month. The new update has already been rolled out to their local Samsung Galaxy S8 users.
Regarding the details about the patch, the report mentions that the firmware version for the Samsung Galaxy S8 would be G950NKSU1AQDG while its bigger brother, the Galaxy S8 Plus will be patched with version G955NKSU1AQDG. Meanwhile, details from GSMArena explains as to how the new update will help in solving the red tint issue on the displays of affected units.
The new update for the Samsung Galaxy S8 smartphone introduces additional color settings in 'Adaptive Display Screen' mode where it then lets users adjust the color balance. However, the new addition only works if the phone is set to function in 'Adaptive display' mode in order to function.
Samsung also mentions customers can replace their defective units to a completely new Galaxy S8 smartphone. Hence, for those people who're still unhappy with the new change, a replacement might not be bad after all.
