Some devices seem to be back to their original naming scheme as earlier that were under the 'Moto X' lineup. That said, the Moto 'Z' series of flagship smartphones like the Moto Z2 indicate it to be a flagship device from the company for 2017. As reported by BGR, the other smartphones from the company are rumored to be part of the Moto Z and Moto X branding primarily while budget smartphones like the Moto E and G series will also see some replacements this year.
The specifications for the Moto Z2 smartphone has been leaked under a naming scheme "Moto Z 2017", that's currently unfamiliar to the company's smartphone lineup. Images from Android Authority seems to suggest there are some primary changes on the new smartphone compared to its predecessor introduced last year. According to details from GSMArena, the device follows the same design schematics as usual with a front-facing fingerprint sensor at the bottom of the display.
A front-facing dual-LED flash is also part of the new design changes for the Moto Z2 Play smartphone. The report also mentioned that Moto has repositioned the company's branding from the bottom which will now be visible on the top, just below the earpiece. There is the same camera bump at the back side of the smartphone like its previous models.
Apart from that, not much is known about the upcoming device. The reports might develop in the coming days since product launch of the Moto Z2 Play is nearing its release date. Hopefully, Moto will be able to offer more modular accessories for their new smartphone releasing in June.
