Microsoft’s New “Surface Pro” Device Leaked

A newly leaked image of the 'Surface Pro' product from Microsoft suggests a refresh of the iconic device might be on its way when the company will be holding a special event in Shanghai, China. Microsoft recently announced their entry-level Surface Laptops that come with their own proprietary Windows 10 S operating system.

While the Microsoft Surface 4 Pro lineup hasn't seen a major upgrade for a couple of years now, the Redmond-based firm feels there's no immediate release necessary since their existing products are still selling very well in the markets. Panos Panay, their corporate Vice President and head of Surface devices declined to speak about the rumored 'Surface Pro 5' their next generation of premium devices into the markets.

"There's no such thing as a Surface Pro 5", Mr. Panay said when questioned whether the successors were on their way. New reports from Cnet indicate the new Surface Pro devices won't be a major upgrade from the currently available units. A Microsoft spokesperson also declined to comment on their upcoming event.

As mentioned by Trusted Reviews, the likelihood of seeing the Surface Pro 5 lineup is impossible at this moment. Evan Blass, a popular smartphone tipster in his report on VentureBeat suggests the new Microsoft product will be a refreshed Surface Pro 4 device simply called as 'Surface Pro'. Since Intel recently introduced the next generation 'Kaby lake' desktop processors.

The implementation of the new 7th generation Intel Processors for the new Surface Pro device has also been on-par with rumors on the internet. So far, the new processors making their way to the upcoming Surface Pro is the only major change internally. The report also revealed that Microsoft will sell optional accessories like the Surface Pen and the keyboard. The new Surface products from the manufacturer will be unveiled on May. 23.
