Microsoft Unveils New Surface Pro That Has Been Redesigned For Better Performance But Carries No Surface Pen

Microsoft unveils new Surface Pro on May 23, 2017, at an event in Shanghai. The new device has been redesigned and refined though it carries no Surface Pen.

This new 2-in-1 laptop/tablet PC is not the Surface Pro 5, though some past rumors tried to recognize this name. These 2-in-1 Windows devices were first landed in 2013, and after this debut, remarkable improvements were made for these devices in the last four years. Previously the device became popular with a unique combination of a tablet and a laptop, but currently, it includes a firm hardware and software support. The new Surface Pro of Microsoft is a great example of these features.

The new Surface Pro looks beautiful and quite similar to its predecessor Surface Pro 4. The device is intact with a smooth magnesium metal shell, Digital Trends reported. Microsoft has successfully shaved the weight of the new device and has made it more affordable.

The latest Surface Pro is now lighter and thinner than the previous one. It is now equipped with the Core i7 Chipset that ultimately boosts the performance of the device up to 20-percent. Microsoft reveals this new model can run for 13 hours, whereas the original one can run up to 9 hours on a charge. Important hardware optimization and the new energy saving process together increase the time frame from 9 hours to 13 hours.

The energy efficiency of Microsoft's new device no doubt enhances the performance experience of the average user. According to Microsoft News Center, the new Surface Pro will provide more performance to the users. The device now supports 50 percent more battery life than its predecessor Surface Pro 4. The device has been refined and streamlined completely with some more beautiful features, like rounded edges, cameras, and others.

The New Signature Type Cover is added to the new Surface Pro in order to deliver better scissor mechanism. The keyboard of it is wrapped completely in soft and durable Alcantara material. This new device by Microsoft will be available with the LTE-Advanced later this year.

An important thing is the new Surface Pro will not be shipped with a Surface Pen, Digital Trends stated. Microsoft uncovers some reasons behind this decision. The company reveals that users' feedback is the key reason behind this decision.

Microsoft notices that only 30 percent owners use the stylus on a regular basis. On the contrary, 70 to 75 percent users of the Surface Pro prefer to use the touchscreen without a stylus. Though reports say the tech company will bring a more updated Surface Pen with higher levels of sensitivity. The previous surface pen has 1,024 levels of sensitivity.

New Surface Dial can be used with the Microsoft's new Surface Pro. Preorder for the device is now open and June 15, 2017, will be the launch day of the device. Consumers can afford it with a starting price of $800.
