Black Hole Peeking Behind Cloud In Galaxy

There is a black hole peeking behind a space cloud and scientists are looking at the depths of it to find out how it affects the rest of the life on Earth. It is surrounded by neighboring clouds of gases and scientist are looking at how its presence is affecting all the rest of these elements in the atmosphere.

There has been thought that there are about 100 million of these mysterious objects present in the atmosphere. Very little is known about them except that when an object gets in the black hole, there is no way it is ever coming back. Sadly, these objects lurking in the sky are very difficult to spot because they do not come with any form of light. Their name suggests exactly how these objects can be characterized best -- black and that it's a hole.

Scientists have spent years trying to understand what these objects in the atmosphere are. Their existence has become very tricky to detect, not to mention to identify. However, scientists have found a way to understand them by looking at the effects of their gravity on the other objects that they are floating within the atmosphere. Dr. Shunya Takekawa led the study at the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan. The researchers realized that the gas cloud that is about 25,000 years away from the Earth's surface is moving strangely.

To have a better understanding of what they were dealing with, they sought the help of the ALMA observatory in Chile. This allowed them to zoom in on the cloud and look at its components. They realized that the cloud was swirling around something that they couldn't see. It remained to be invisible but it is there at the center of the galaxy.

The unusual motion was later realized by the scientists as caused by an enormous mass. It is about 30,000 times greater in size than the sun.

"This and the absence of any other object in the galaxy only points to one thing. It is suggestive of an intermediate mass of a black hole," said Dr. Takekawa. Through the analysis of other anomalous clouds present in the atmosphere, scientists are able to identify what a black hole is and whether or not it is there.

Black holes are believed to be smaller than the sun. They are characterized as supermassive which basically means that their effect on Earth is supermassive as well. While astronomers continue to study black holes and their existence, they are hopeful that through the other elements in the atmosphere and how it interacts with them, they'd be able to identify if there is one that is threatening life on Earth.

The team is looking at more strange movements in the distant parts of the atmosphere, they'd be able to successfully find more black holes.
